Gordon Studio Glassblowers
Eileen Gordon, Grant Donaldson
Gordon Studio Glassblowers embodies three generations of glass artists, all skillfully working with glass. This is a family that has passed down skills over time, with each family member bringing their own uniqueness to this age-old craft. The family’s love of the medium began in 1953 at the Edinburgh College of Art where Eileen’s parents, Rish and Alasdair Gordon, studied glass engraving. They walked away from the college with degrees and a lifelong partnership. Settling in Perth in 1980, the glass gene soon revealed itself in daughter Eileen and son Kevin. Eileen, with her husband and fellow glassblower Grant Donaldson, founded the Gordon Studio Glassblowers in Red Hill in 2004. Their sons, Hamish and Calum, have grown up in the studio and are now themselves emerging glass artists. In this family of gifted artists we are fortunate to have an enterprise that continues to prove the continuing importance of this craft within the modern canvas of artisan practice. The studio offer works for sale, classes & workshops, and accept commissions.
