Grania Hickley
Grania is a kiln fired glass artist who began her glass making journey in July 2015 with Kate Baker. Excited about the alchemy of glass and its transformative nature and qualities, she was encouraged to pursue her interest and learned fusing, casting, screen printing, sandblasting, lampwork and pate de verre techniques. Her first recognition came in 2017 when Kate Baker used one of Grania’s glass blocks to promote her classes. Three years later, she was a finalist in the 2020 National Emerging Art Glass Award for her screen-printed piece called ‘Wonderment’ confirming Grania could make a positive contribution to the glass community. Grania likes to expand where glass is exhibited by twice being a finalist in group exhibitions generally reserved for 2D painters.
She now has her own studio in One+2 Studio and Gallery, Balmain Sydney.
